Smart Car Q&A Checklist
First Things First – Get Your Questions Answered & The Owner’s Manual
Many Smart car owners take the time to write all of their questions down. This is a highly recommended practice and you shouldn’t leave your Smart Car dealer with any lingering thoughts or doubts about anything you don’t fully understand.
Ask all of the questions that are important to YOU. The best opportunity is at the beginning, when the experts are readily accessible.
If still in doubt, ask more questions about your questions. Don’t be afraid to ask: “Is there anything I need to know that I haven’t asked you about?”
-Or-
“This may sound like a dumb question but …”
These may be the most valuable questions you ask the dealer. (There are no such things as dumb questions.)
And even then – no matter how prepared you are – you may not ask everything. For those times, the well crafted owner’s manual is for you. Take the time to read it – from cover-to-cover – front-to-back.
Then – read it again.
You will be very glad you did. Taking this extra time in the beginning, when owning and operating a new, revolutionary vehicle, can be the difference between really understanding what is required from you as a responsible fortwo owner – to being in the dark if problems arise.
If you haven’t become familiar with how to solve or deal with any issues that may come-up, the problem often has its roots in not being thorough enough in the beginning.
After you read your owner’s manual, take the further step of reviewing all the videos on the SmartUSA website. For many, videos are often the difference between really understanding what is going on with your fortwo, and guessing.
Videos often will often paint a picture that stays with us – for the long-term. View them repeatedly. You will learn things about maintaining you fortwo that can save you money through realizing you can do them yourself.
Conversely, there may be things – no matter how simple – you will decide are better left to the trained technicians at the dealer. Either way is correct – what is comfortable for you may be uncomfortable for others – and vice-versa.
